It is a big town on the NWR Peel Godred Branch and the RR Kirkdale Branch
Kirk Machan is where The Skarloey, Rhyndale and North Western Railways all meet and the Culdee Fell's Starting place.
Most the engines and people use the town's Nickname "The Wharf" as goods and supplies come into the town by the Hawin Ab River which leads out into Brendam Bay which is apart of the Irish Sea.
Lenora]]and Nigel are also based here as the main cranes.
